MADISON – Frances D. Matts, age 101, died on Monday, January 24, 1994, in a Madison nursing home. The former Frances Maloney was born on April 21, 1892, in Madison, Wisconsin. She was a life-long Madison resident. Frances was trained as a nurse in New York and practiced in Madison for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jones, a grandson, Michael Jones, and two great-grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Jones, all of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Matts. Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 1994. Father Raymond Maier will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
