Lillie Yost, daughter of John and Olive Yost, was born in Milo Center, N.Y. on October 18, 1888 [sic] and died in Storm Lake, July 26, 1956 at the age of 27.
She spent her childhood and youth in the New York Community. On February 26, 1896, she married Richard S. Gilbert. Following their marriage, they came to Iowa and were engaged in farming for many years in the Larrabee vicinity.
In 1921, they went to Storm Lake where they have since made their home. Mr. Gilbert preceded her in death in 942, and a son, John Belden in 1942.
She is survived by one son, Albert of Storm Lake, and one daughter, Hattie of Cherokee; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 29 at the Larrabee Methodist Church, the Rev. W.A. Bintz officiated. Burial was in Cedar Township Cemetery with the Kroll Funeral Home of Storm Lake in charge.
