The newspaper gave her name as Caraline A. Oakerson.

She was born in Randolph County, Indiana on November 10, 1847. She was the daughter of Miles and Mary Hunt.

She married Alfred T. Oakerson on September 25, 1864. They had five children, one of whom died in infancy. She was survived by the other four children: Mary Malinda Fantz of Skidmore, William Miles Oakerson of Jefferson City, Alonzo Oakerson of Maryville, and James Bert Oakerson of Skidmore.

She was one of eleven children. Also surviving her were two sisters, Rachel Stevenson of Skidmore and Sally Dickson of Chrisman, Illinois, and one brother, John C. Hunt of Rockport, Missouri.

She died at her home in Skidmore on May 28, 1925.
