James Elmer Haley, 85, of Springfield died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Springfield Terrace. He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Peoria, the son of Elmer and Gertrude Anderson Haley. His wife, Christine Johnson Haley, and a daughter, Christine Gage, preceded him in death.
Mr. Haley owned and operated Haley's Tip-To-Top Valet Shop for many years. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors: six sons; five daughters; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.
Services: Union Baptist Church, the Rev. T. Ray McJunkins officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
