WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Services for Fred P. Blanchfield, 85, formerly of 610 - 10th Avenue South, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wilkinson Funeral Home, the Reverend E.G. Kuechle officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Blanchfield died Tuesday evening at Riverview Hospital after a brief illness. He was a resident of Family Heritage Nursing Home.

He was born November 21, 1891 in Necedah, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Blanchfield. He married Elva Hibbard in 1912. She died in 1928. In 1939 he married Elizabeth Schilling. She died in 1969. Blanchfield was a depot agent 48 years for Milwaukee Road Railroad, retiring in 1965. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Merle, Wisconsin Rapids, Earl, Wausau; one daughter, Meredith Stern, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today [November 10, 1977] until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
