MY 9 TIMES GREAT-GRANDMOTHER.. DIED AT AGE 19. MARRIED TO SIMON WILLARD, HAD A SON BORN 1N 1635 NAMED JOSHUA WILLARD. Simon Willard and Mary Sharpey were married October 13, 1628 in Marden, Kent, England.

New data shows that Simon Willard did NOT marry Mary Sharp, daughter of Henry sharpe and Jane Feylde.

Mary (1) Sharpey was baptized on 17 Apr 1609 at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Marden, County of Kent, England (1). She was the daughter of Samuel Sharpey of Marden, Kent and his wife Abovehope Nichols. She married Major Simon Willard, son of Richard Willard and Margery Humphrie, on 13 Oct 1628 at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, County of Kent, England, (2,3 & 4). She died after 1649 at Massachusetts Bay Colony [her last child was born in November 1649; and Simon re-married by 1653].

Mary was named in the will of her grandfather "Josias Nicholls dwelling within the parishe of Bowe in London," dated 22 July 1639 and proved 19 May 1649. He gave "to my daughter Sharpies Children Josias Nathaniell and Josuah Sharpie and to my Neece [grandchild] Willer tenn shillings speece to be paied within tenn monethes after my decease." The will does not say who Mary was married to nor where she was living. [5,6] Mary's brother's will clarifies who she was married to and where she lived. "Joshuah Sharpey of Marden in the County of Kent, Clothier," written 30 Dec 1674, and proved at London 16 Dec 1675, gave leagacies to several relatives, including "unto the children of my sister Mary Willard late of New England deceased 53nn shillings a piece [perehaps worth ' $100 today] To be paid unto them att their demand. "The executor was "Sammuel Sharpey, sonne of my Brother Josias Sharpey.[7]"
