son of John and Hettie (Ford) Morgan

Paul Morgan, 98, passed away peacefully at Allen Hospital after a brief illness and a long successful life.

He was born on March 29, 1914, to John and Hettie Ford Morgan on the family farm in Black Hawk County, where he lived all of his life. Paul attended Washington Township Grade School and Janesville High School. He was the last surviving member of his high school class of 1931.

Paul continued to live on and operate the heritage farm, where he was born and raised, until December of 2011, when he moved to Mallard Point in Cedar Falls.

He married Beulah Butler in 1936. They raised ten children on the farm. She died in May of 1964. Paul later married Irene Kramer and they were married until her death in May of 2010.

Paul was a member of the Washington Chapel Methodist Church and the Janesville Lions Club. He was very active in local and county organizations, including ten years on the Black Hawk County Board of Appeals, a board member of the American Milk Producers Institute, and served many years on the Agricultural Stabilization Committee during the 1950's and 1960's. Paul was a successful dairy and crop farmer in Black Hawk County. He was an avid wood worker who spent many hours in his workshop. Paul enjoyed making furniture and toys for his grandchildren. His tractor was one of his two joys.

He is survived by sons Larry (Rae) Morgan of Iowa City and Dennis (Jana) Morgan of Longview, WA, daughters Joyce Illian of Norwalk, IA, Diann (Dean) Peyton of Des Moines, Dinah (Dick) Faust of Mauston, WI, Michelle (Craig) Neal of Pittsford, NY, Lorraine (John) Ward of Coon Valley, WI, and Paula (Stacey) Walters of Seward, AK, daughter-in-law, Carol Morgan, of Jefferson, WI. He is also survived by a step son, Jerry (JoAnne) Kramer, of Waterloo and a step daughter-in-law, Liz Miller, of Cedar Falls, twenty-three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife Beulah and his wife Irene, a son, Gaylin Morgan, a daughter, Janice Baumgartner, grandson Steve Baumgartner, step son John Kramer, step daughter Kathy Kramer, one brother, four sisters and two son-in-laws.
