From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:

Mr. Lee Roy Pfeiffer was born on February 6, 1932, to Otto and Martha Haag Pfeiffer on the family ranch at the corner of Kreitzburg Rd. and FM 474 in Boerne. He passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 brothers Chester, Alton and Harold; and his sister Madeline Shultz.

Lee Roy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosalie Just Wissmann Pfeiffer; daughters Janet Person (David), Cathy Cass (Rusty), Martha Wissmann, and son Edwin Wissmann (Janel.) He is also survived by 3 sisters: Frances Sultenfuss (Raymond) of San Antonio, Betty Ortmann of Floresville, and Tilly Simon of Ohio. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren- Joseph Person, Sarah Person and Christopher Person, Michael Holifield, William Cass, and Randall Cass and 1 great granddaughter, Makayla Holifield. He also has 3 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.

Lee Roy worked as a Rural Mail Route carrier for 35 years but he was a farmer and rancher his whole life. He served in the Korean War between 1953 and 1955. His hobbies were wood working and toy making. He was considered a grandkid at heart because you would find him either riding bikes with the grandkids or making something with them in his wood shop. He could grow anything and had the greenest of thumbs that you have ever seen. He LOVED to feed and watch the deer out in the backyard. He tinkered with just about everything on the farm and could usually make something useful for the farm out of bits and pieces. Lee Roy was one of the kindest of all men and was always thoughtful and caring to everyone else's needs, putting them before his own.

The immediate family would like to thank Jess Noval, Elaina Hurst-Garcia, and the caregivers of Vista Verde Manor in Boerne along with the caregivers from Hospice Inspiris for their loving care and support.

Visitation will be at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kronkosky Place, PO Box 1039, Boerne, TX 78006 in memory of Lee Roy Pfeiffer. To leave condolences for the family and to view a video of Lee Roy's life, please visit www.ebensberger-fisher.com and select the Obituaries tab.
