Gary married Nancy (Redman) Hill on February 6, 1981 and one daughter, Angela, was born to this union. Gary was devoted to his family and was a wonderful and supportive husband, father, son, brother and a loyal friend to all who knew him.
He was an avid reader all of his life and enjoyed traveling with his wife and daughter throughout the United States and Europe. He loved antique cars, especially Woodies, garage and estate sales and polka dancing. He was fun-loving with a wonderful sense of humor and everyone who knew him enjoyed his company.
He was a member of the Warren County, Iowa Masonic Lodge #53 in Indianola, Iowa and the Washington Street United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, of Alexandria, Virginia; loving daughter, Angela, of Rockville, Maryland; brother, Terry and wife, Diane, of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, June Hill of Aurora, Colorado; nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
Graveside services with military honors from the United States Army (Ft. Belvoir, Virginia) will be held at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia on Friday, July 13, 2012 with the Reverend Mike Lyle from the Washington Street United Methodist Church officiating. Internment at Quantico National Cemetery following the services.
