WOOSTER -- Thelma M. Beery, 84, of Wooster, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Majora Lane Center in Millersburg, after a battle with Alzheimer's. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seville, with pastor Ed Kropa officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston or one hour prior to the services at the church. Thelma was born Nov. 23, 1925, at Blake in Medina Co., the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Freidt) Fulton, and married Galen C. Beery on Aug. 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1995. Along with her husband, they had been dairy farmers first farming in the Leroy/Westfield area. From 1962-72, they were owner/operators of Gay-Thel Farms on Friendsville Road, Burbank, and in 1972, in association with their son, the farm became known as Bryn-Gala Farms, until their retirement in 1989. From 1989-2001, Thelma resided in Rittman moving to Wayne Manor in 2001. She was a 1943 graduate of Wadsworth High School and had been an active member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church all of her life. She was a member of Creston Book and Music Club and enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and arranging and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by sons, Dick (Sandy) Beery of Shreve and Bruce (Carolyn) Beery of Burbank; grandchildren, Laura and John Ballou, Brian Beery, Darin and Kim Beery, Neil Beery, Josh and Sonya Beery; great-grandchildren, Lyla Ballou, Halie Totten and Stella Beery; a sister, Virginia (Clyde) Leatherman of Wooster; and a brother, Calvin Wayne Fulton of Tucson, Ariz.
