Mr. Floyd Stokes Brewton, age 89, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Fort Worth.

He was born February 2, 1927 in Porter Springs to parents, John Thomas Brewton and Annie Turner Brewton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Houston Police Department. Mr. Brewton was a member and deacon of the Central Baptist Church. He was a member of the Police Officers Union and Retired Police Officers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Marvice Brewton of Fort Worth; children, Dana Brewton and wife, Robin of Deer Park, Jamie Brewton and wife, Sherri of Pasadena, Karen Brewton Cupp of Fort Worth, Floyce Zucha and husband, Paul of San Antonio; grandchildren, Layna Clouse and husband, Noah of Huntington, Ashley Branyan and husband, Patrick of Pasadena, Jon Travis and Kerry Brewton of Africa, Amanda Brewton of Pasadena, Bryan Roebuck of Midland, Justin Zucha of San Antonio, Stephanie Zucha and Lupe Villarreal of San Antonio, Katy Gutierrez of San Antonio; eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Chronister of Fayetteville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Brewton; brothers, Homer, Waymon, Emmit, J.T., Frank, O’Neal, and Bud Brewton; sisters, Wilma Cook, Bernice Stubbs, Mary Oliver, and Sybil Reynolds.

Funeral services for Floyd Stokes Brewton will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Central Baptist Church with Rev. John Goss officiating.

Interment to follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for visitation, Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

Floyd lived to be 89 years, 11 months and 17 days old.
