Services for Norma Elizabeth Kingston, 63, of Nampa, who died Friday, June 20, at her home, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Nampa First Church of Nazarene.
The Rev. Jerry White, pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Vernon Wilcox, associate pastor of the church, with burial to follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Services and burial are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mrs. Kingston was born May 8, 1923, in Wiley, Colo., to J.W. and Elsie Chaplin. She moved with her family to Lamar, Colo., where she was raised and educated, graduating from the Lamar High School in 1940.
She married Charlie Kingston on June 17, 1941, in Boise City, Okla., and the couple lived in Lamar, Pueblo, Colo., and the Nyssa-Vale area of Oregon before moving to Caldwell in 1957. In 1961 they moved to Nampa, where they had since made their home.
She worked for a telephone company for 25 years, beginning as an operator and retiring as a service representative in 1978. She also sold insurance for a period of time.
She was a very active member of the Church of the Nazarene, having taught Sunday school for many years and working with the various youth groups within the church. As a member of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene she served as the captain of the prayer chain for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Phyllis Kingston of Meridian, and Bill and Sue Kingston of Boise; her step-mother, Nora Chaplin of Lamar; one sister, Dorothy Smith of Lamar; one sister-in-law, Norma Jean Costello of Pueblo; seven grandchildren, Chuck Kingston Jr. of Olath, Kan., Bryan and Von Kingston at Meridian, and Traci Erickson, Kari DeMarco, Tami and Butch Kingston, all of Boise; and three great grandchildren; Paul, Erickson Jr.; Brandon DeMarco and Christopher Kingston.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Velda Chaplin.
