John N. Yingling, 166 North street, Hanover, died at his home Friday Morning following an extended illness, at the age of 71 years. He had been in ill health for more than three years and had been confined to bed for the last 10 days.


Mr. Yingling was a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Collins Yingling, and as born May 8, 1866.


Surviving are his wife, who before marriage was Carrie Sloop; three children at home, Catherine, John Jr., and Betty Jane Yingling, snd six children by a former marriage, Mrs. Jacob Toomey, Pennville; William Yingling, Mrs. Linus Bievenour and Mrs. John Staub, New Oxford; Mrs. Paul Conrad, McSherrystown; and Charles A. Yingling, Hanover. He also is survived by thirty-two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother David Yingling, Akron, Oio, formerly of Gettysburg, and one sister, Mrs. James Kerrigan, Gettysburg.


Funeral services Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Long, 121 Baltimore street, Hanover, with services at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Baltimore street, Hanover, the rector, the Very Rev. James A. Huber, officiating. Interment in Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
