"MOTHER CARTER" DEAD
"Mother Carter," as she was known to her many friends and admirers, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena Holley, at Lebanon Junction Friday night of troubles incident to old age. The remains were brought to her late home at Rowland and Sunday afternoon after appropriate remarks there by Mr. J. C. McClary, they were taken to Buffalo Springs Cemetery and laid to rest to await the resurrection morn. She is survived by six children - Mrs. Alice Holley, Mrs. Lena Holley, Capt. James A. Carter, Capt. Walter W. Carter, Capt. George Carter and was sister of the late Alfred Davis, of Crab Orchard, was born in Rockcastle county on Sept. 9, 1844. She was twice married, her first husband being James Roberts. Her second husband, who also died many years ago, was Capt. James A. Carter, for a long time freight conductor on the L. & N. Mrs. Carter had been a member of the Christian church for many years and was a most excellent woman. Her death removes one of the most popular women of her section and much sorrow is occasioned by her taking away.

Wills Probated
Mrs. Sarah Carter, of Rowland, who died at Lebanon Junction, a few days ago, divided her possessions between her children and grandchildren. Logan R. Hughes was made executor of the estate and it was stipulated in the will he be given the trust without making bond.
