Michael R. "Mike" Beck, of Decatur, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Harrison County, Iowa. Mike was born November 12, 1963, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Morris G. and Dorothea Louise "Dort" (Christensen) Beck.
Mike attended Elm Creek Elementary School near Decatur until the sixth grade. He then attended school in Lyons, graduating from Lyons High School in 1982.
Mike worked on the family farm with Morris and also was employed at D & S Tire Company in West Point. He then drove truck for Larson Transfer in Oakland and was currently working for Bromm Cattle Company near Craig, Nebraska.
Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked to drive truck, farm, ride horses; as well as go to rodeos and country music concerts
Mike was preceded in death by: parents; brother-in-law and grandparents.
Survivors are: sisters, Vanessa Strom (special friend, Gerry Gerch) of Oakland, Joanne (Wade) Callahan of Fremont, NE; four nephews, Chris (Katherine) Strom of Caribou, ME, Dustyn Peterson, Austin and Brennan Callahan all of Fremont; two nieces, Jessica Peterson of Fremont, Molly (Jesse) Hansen of Bancroft, NE; great nephews, Marshall Strom and Daltyn Hansen and a host of relatives and friends and his best buddy "Blue.
Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, NE.
