April 6, 2002
Loa Mae Thomas returned to her Heavenly Father Wednesday, April 3, 2002 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born to Cyrus Oakley and Sarah Ann Hunt Tolman, Aug. 15, 1926 in Spring-dale, Cassia, Idaho. She was 14th of 16 children. Reunited with her husband, Bud LeRoy Thomas who preceded her in death August 24, 1962.
Survived by her children, Tanya Zaknich of Redwood Estates, California; Diane Atwood of Bountiful, Utah; Stephen Thomas of Burley, Idaho; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Her life had many struggles, being widowed at 36 and raising three children alone. She had many church callings, but her favorite was Sunday School Coordinator. She will always be remembered for her wonderful soup for all she shared with. We know she is at peace and surrounded by her family. We love you, Mom.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary 295 N. Main Street, where friends may call Sunday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services.
