Pauline Bartko HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - Pauline Bartko, 88, of Hamilton Township fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 in the Compassionate Care Hospice. Born in Robbinsville, Washington Township, NJ, Ms. Bartko was a lifelong Trenton and Hamilton Township resident. She retired after 21 years service as a secretary with the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, Division of Narcotic and Drug Abuse Control. She also managed Beauty Vogue in Trenton for 14 years and was a local area hairdresser. Pauline was a Princeton High School graduate, Class of 1942. She was an animal lover and member of the North Shore Animal League. Most of all, Pauline was very dedicated to her Lord and to her church. She was extremely active in virtually every aspect of supporting it, working as a volunteer from the scheduled Sunday Coffee Hours, to all celebrations and feast day dinners and on regular socials, and was active on many committees. Pauline enjoyed singing in the choir and being a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and the assistant recording secretary on the Parish Council. She was also a member of FROC, the Federated Russian Orthodox Club. Lastly, Pauline was proud to have participated in the pilgrimage to celebrate Russia's millenium in 1998. Pauline was the daughter of the late John M. and Emily Stavisky Bartko, and sister of the late Irene Schultz, George Bartko), who was killed at Iwo Jima), and Harold Bartko M.D. She is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Daniel Bartko of Greensboro, NC, and Joseph and Joanne Bartko of Kingsley, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Vladimir's Orthodox Church, corner of Grand and Stanton Streets, Trenton, with Rev. Fr. Jason Vansuch, pastor, and Rev. Fr. Paul Shafran, pastor emeritus, co-officiating. Burial will be in St. Vladimir's Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30, both at the Winowicz Funeral Home, corner of Adeline and Beatty Streets, Trenton. The Parastas service will be on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The funeral litia will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. Memorial donations in Pauline's memory are to be made to either St. Vladimir's Church, 812 Grand St., Trenton, NJ 08610, or to the North Shore Animal League of America, 25 Davis Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050.
