William H. "Bill" Grigsby, 88, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, after arrival at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center in Richmond.

He was born on October 13, 1923, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to the late William and Rachel Godsby Grigsby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Gabbard Grigsby, and one son, Les Grigsby.

Mr. Grigsby had worked as an advertising director at the Cincinnati Enquirer, and he worked at the former Garland's Clothing Store, Jack's BP Station, and Barger's, all of Richmond. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and he attended Unity Baptist Church. In addition, he had been a member of the Masonic Fraternity over fifty years, becoming a member in 1958. He was a member of Richmond Lodge # 25, F. & A.M., of York Rite bodies and the Oleika Shrine Temple in Lexington.

Mr. Grigsby is survived by one granddaughter, Amy Beth Kennedy (Rob) and two great grandchildren, Madeline and James Kennedy, all of Texas.

Services at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Dr. Dennis Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the A. R. Dyche Memorial Cemetery in London, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Jim Barnes and the Deacons of Unity Baptist Church.
