Jane Juliet's brother, William S Fulton, had been appointed by President Andrew Jackson as secretary of the Territory of Arkansas in 1829 and obtained for her father, a position as sutler, or merchant, at Fort Gibson in Indian Territory where Fulton's wife's brother, Captain E W B Nowland, was stationed in 1833.
Margaret Anne Shall married James Blair Galloway on March 1, 1838. James was born July 11, 1820, in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. He was a planter and owned land in Pulaski and Lonoke Counties. He was a member of the Little Rock Company who joined in the California Gold Rush in 1849. James Blair and Margaret Anne Galloway had three children who survived to adulthood: Walter Aston Galloway, Mary "Molly" Aston Galloway, and Elizabeth Shall Galloway.

Baltimore county, Maryland and was the sister of Senator William Savin Fulton.
