Vivian Marie Christina Anderson, 88, of Stromsburg died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at Clarkson Hospital of Omaha. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg, with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial is at Stromsburg Cemetery. Visitation is 4- 7 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg. Mrs. Anderson was born in Stromsburg on February 28, 1911 to Nels and Christina (Car1son) Anderson. She graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1929, then worked at Lunner and Johnson's store as a saleswoman for about six years.
On June 26th, 1935, she married Wilmer Anderson at Stromsburg. She'was a homemaker and a care giver for her parents and her uncle, who lived with the family. She was a member of the church where she taught Sunday school, served in various offices with the Covenant Women and participated on committees for building the parsonage and compiling the 10Oth anniversary cookbook. She was also a member of the Stromsburg Women's Club and worked with Y-Teens, FHA. Girls Scouts, 4-H and volunteered to help with the Stromsburg Swedish Festival. She was a member of the U-GO-I-GO and the Covenant Home Board ofDirectors, serving as secretary while the home was being built.
Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie (Dale G.) Anderson of Lincoln, Katherine (Donald W.) Lybecker of Fort Collins, Colorado and Mary (Marvin G.) Wadell of Stromsburg; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and Alfred Swanson, Lillian and Arthur Carlson and Esther and Vincent Anderson; and her parents.
