Mrs. Brock was a pioneer in the field of continuing education for women and received the first higher education grant for women in Florida while employed at the Institute on Continuing University Studies at FSU. She organized and served as consultant for the Council on Continuing Education for Women in Dade and Orange counties and for EVE (Education, Volunteerism and Employment) projects in Pensacola and Jacksonville.
She served as a state consultant on Education For and About Aging and was president of the Florida Council on Aging for two years. She was the co-author of a handbook and video on retiring, "Ready or Not" which has been re-published several times.
She retired from the Florida State Department of Education and was honored with selection into the Adult Education Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Brock was a charter member of the Tallahassee Junior League, the Camellia Garden Circle and the Town Club. She was a master flower show judge and served as president of the Florida Federation of Flower Show Judges.
The Brocks were seasonal residents of Highlands, NC, for 20 years and moved to Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community in Asheville in 2001.
