Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Gay were conducted by the Rev. Walter Grimes at the Welin Memorial Chapel Monday, March 15, 1965 at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers were Conklin Gay, Jr., Arnold Brogden, Tom Lundberg, Lauren Lundberg, John Ferran, and LuVerne Angstrom. Burial was in Gilbert, Iowa.
Barbara Gay, daughter of George and Ann McFarland, was born in Daunesburg, N.Y., April 23, 1870 and died in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, March 13, 1965 at the age of 94 years, 10 months, and 29 days.
On Nov. 9, 1894 she was united in marriage in Humboldt, Iowa to Preston L. gay and to this union one son was born.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church all of her life; a charger member of the White Shrine and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Her hobby was quilting and handwork.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 12, 1953; one brother and 10 sisters. Survivors include her son, Conklin Gay of Boone; one grandson, 4 granddaughters, and 14 great-grandchildren.
