James "Jim" Clester was born 08 Mar 1870 in Washington Twp., Mercer County, Ohio; one of four children born to John C. and Amanda Jane (Flummer) Clester.

Jim was united in marriage in Sumner County, Kansas on 31 Aug 1892 in a double wedding ceremony with Adah Paralee Foster; daughter of George Cromwell and Sarah Elizabeth (Henderson) Foster. The other couple united in marriage were a cousin of Jim's to the sister of Adah - Samuel "Emery" Clester and May Virginia Foster.

Jim and Adah (Foster) Clester homesteaded the SE of Okeene, Oklahoma in the run of 1892 when the Cheyenne Arapaho Strip was opened for settlement in Indian Territory.

Jim and Adah were the parents of eight children:

2. Amy Amanda born 1899 married George Hubert Bur1nett
3. Atha M. born 1901 married William (Bill) Worthington Rensberger
