Mrs. Carson Hatfield, 71, of Madison died Tuesday at St. Mary Hospital in that city where she had been a patient since becoming ill Feb 1. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Frockie Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Madison. Mrs. Hatfield was born January 29, 1891, at Manitowoc, the daughter of the late Capt. William Abel and Ida Johnson Abel, and taught in elementary and junior high schools at Manitowoc prior to her marriage Sept. 2, 1921, to Carson Hatfield at the Abel residence at 820 N. Ninth St. The couple resided at Park Falls, Sauk City and Cornell where her husband was a school principal. She was a member of the Congregational Church at Madison. Survivors include several nieces and nephews in the Manitowoc area. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
