Hymera — Eddie Lee Beasley, 88, of Welaka, Fla., passed away July 26, 2012, at Haven Hospice in Palatka, Fla. He was born May 25, 1924, in Hymera, to Harry and Barbara (Stephens) Beasley.
He married Sara Tabor of Bloomington, on June 3, 1945. She survives along with daughter Susan and Eddie Hovorka of East Palatka; son, Eddie Jr. and Lois Beasley of West Lafayette; son, Harry Brent and Patsy Beasley of Terre Haute; a sister, Margie and Lee Wells of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Terri and Keith Williams, Jeff Miller, and Allen Beasley; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Williams, Stephanie Williams and Brayden Miller
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mary and Lavora.
Eddie graduated from Hymera High School, and attended Indiana University. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Pfizer from 1947 to 1981. Eddie was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Hymera.
Preferred memorials may be made to Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL, 32177.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mattox-McHugh Funeral Home, 205 N. Washington St., in Shelburn, with visitation Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Ransford, with burial at K of P Cemetery, in Hymera.
