ELDRIDGE UPTON
CHOWCHILLA--- Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Werden Funeral Chapel here for Eldridge Hayes Upton, 78, a Chowchilla resident since 1953 who died Saturday in a Merced hospital.
Rev. Pete Crabtree of Southern Baptist Church in Madera will conduct services for Mr. Upton, who lived at 24294 Avenue 24, Chowchilla.
Burial will be in Chowchilla District Cemetery.
A native of Wister, Okla., Mr. Upton operated a commericial goat dairy known as Upton's Litahni Lodge. He was a past member of the Oxnard Odd Fellows Lodge. He retired three years ago.
Mr. Upton is survived by his wife, Novia; six sons. Lee, Vacaville; Melvin, Illinois; Johnny, Oxnard; Andrew, Rackerby, and Chester and David, both of Sacramento; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Casner, Fairfield, and Mrs. Mary Crarry, Chowchilla; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
