Ezekiel married in Blount Co., TN, on 29 Feb 1820, Mary Upshaw (white) b. abt 1800 in GA, d. 21 Nov 1876 in Flint Dist., Cherokee Nation, I.T., buried at the Honey Hill Cemetery, Adair, OK; they had the following children: Nannie, Ellis, Ruth, Caleb Du-s-du, Leroy Buck, Sarah, Elizabeth, John Walker, Mary Jane, James Hickory, and Ezekiel Starr Jr.
Ezekiel belonged to the Wolf Clan (Nanye'hi); he moved with his family to Western AR (Old Settlers). In the winter of 1843-44, he was sent to Washington DC as one of the delegates to plead the cause of the Treaty party before the Gov. of the US. In the winter of 1844-45 he was a delegate also. When he moved to the Cherokee Nation I. T. his family was forced out of the Nation to the State of AR; his brother, James Starr and his infant son ruthlessly murdered. He returned again to Washington and was stricken with erysipelas and died.
