Mrs. J.C.E. Yohe Laid to Rest

Mrs. J. C. E. Yohe Laid to Rest.
Mrs. J. C. E. Yohe, a highly respected
resident of this community, died,
at her home southwest of town, Sun-
day afternoon, August 20th, following
an illness of several weeks.
The funeral services were held from
the family home Tuesday afternoon
conducted by her pastor, Dr. W. P.
Nicholas. The interment was in Elmwood
cemetery. The funeral was at-
tended by large number of sympathiz-
ing friends and neighbors. The children
of the deceased were all present
at the service.
Elizabeth Jane Jones was born May
14, 1855, in Des Moines county, Iowa,
and departed this life August 20th,
1922, aged 67 years, 3 months and 6
days. Her grandfather, Robert
Jones, in whose family her father was
the eldest son, came from Angelsea,
Wales, in the year 1845. John R. married
Mrs. Given Owens Hughes in
1849, and Mrs. Yohe was the sixth of
twelve children, of whom but two remain,
Sarah, wife of T.L. Jones of
Lebo, Kansas, and David Owen Jones
of Sioux Palls, S. Dakota. On Feb-
ruary 1, 1877, she was united in marriage
to J. C. E. Yohe and to them
were born five children: Gwin Glovina,
who died at the age of fifteen;
Mary Jane at home; Chester C. and
Anglesea, now Mrs. Paul Asby, both
residents of Burlington, and William
O., of the Morning Sun community.
Seven grandchildren also mourn her
death and honor her memory.
When a young girl Mrs. Yohe united
with the Pisgah Baptist church. Du-
ring the last 34 years she has been a
member of the first Presbyterian
church of Morning Sun. She was a
much loved woman and will be missed in
the home circle and by the many
warm friends she gathered about her
during her lifetime.
