Enlisted 13 May 1943 in Springfield, MA.
Served in the 29th Field Artillery Battalion
Married Fernanda Paixao (single at enlistment in 1943 & birth of son John in 1948)
In the 1952 Springfield Directory he is listed as a draftsman
Graduated from Western New England College on the dean's list & with a degree in engineering in 1954
On 31 August 1954 the Hampden County Probate Court,as part of a Separate Support Execution, awarded to Fernanda recovered proceeds from the sale of Springfield property owned by John "of parts unknown".
The Reno (Nevada) Evening Gazette lists both a divorce decree for John from Fernanda & a marriage license for John and Helen on 1 September 1954 (p12)
He was employed as a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Space Division
In 1984 John & Helen moved from California (Sunnyvale her obit, San Jose his father's 1970 obit & his obit) to Palm Harbor Florida.
He was a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
John & Helen had no known children.
He was survived by his son John (died 29 June 2009), 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren
