Frances Opal PRUNTY

Frances Opal PRUNTY, 82, of Hardy, Ark., died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Care Manor Nursing Home.

A graveside service for Frances Opal PRUNTY will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Norman Channel Officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be sent to the Free Methodist Church or the donor's choice

Mrs. PRUNTY was born July 13, 1918, in rural Fairfield, the daughter of George W. and Zenith LYON BLACK. She married Robert J. PRUNTY Aug. 2, 1937, in Memphis, Mo. He died in October 1999.

She graduated from Fairfield High School in the class of 1936, lived in Fairfield with her husband until 1955. She was a homemaker and Conoco Station employee for 20 years. She lived in Arkansas since 1977.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Hardy.
Surviving are two sons, Robert and wife Louise PRUNTY of Tiskwia, Ill. and Vern and wife Diane PRUNTY of Mountain Home; two daughters, Barbara and husband Dennis MERCER of Fairfield and Elaine and husband Wally LEWIS of Alvarado, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles E. and wife Betty BLACK of National City, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; one daughter, Roberta BRINKMEIER; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
