Cleophas Guillot, 82, dies at Simmesport
Died at Simmesport, La., on September 6, 1935, 1:40 o'clock a.m. Cleophas Guillot, 82 years, 3 months and 29 ages of age.

The deceased has been ill for practically three weeks and this it was that the ravages of disease coupled with the infirmities of old age caused him to lay down life's duties and cares; its sufering and waiting, for that well-earned rest that we mortals of this world so covet.

He was an honest and well-to-do farmer of Avoyelles parish having been born and reared near its parish seat, Marksville.

Later in life he moved to Simmesport where he established a home with his help mate, the former Miss Azelia Bordelon. Of this union were the following children: Mrs. R. Guillory, Mrs. Octavia Whitmore, Mrs. O.J. Deville, Mrs. W.R. Stepps, Mrs. Mattie Guillot Roberts, Mrs. M.L. Lacour, Mrs. Charles Lacour and Mr. J.O. Guillot - all of whom survive.

He is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Simmesport Catholic Church, Friday, September 6, with the Rev. Father Sice officiating and paying loving tribute to the memory of the deceased, after which all that was mortal was placed in Simmesport's City of the Dead.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
