Irene Luke Grover, age 95, of Provo, passed away on October 15, of causes incidental to age.

Irene was born August 31, 1909, in Junction, Utah, the daughter of George and Adella (Della) Luke. Her childhood was spent in different parts of the world, including Utah; Madison, Wisconsin; Shanghai and Tianjin, China; and Moscow, Idaho. She went to school in China and Idaho and received a B.S. degree in Home Economics from the University of Idaho. She taught home economics in Midway High School in Menan, Idaho, and Kendrick, Idaho.

While at the University of Idaho, she met Milton Call Grover, from Rigby, Idaho, and they married on July 23, 1934, in Spokane, Washington. The marriage was solemnized two days later in the Cardston, Alberta LDS Temple. They lived in several cities in Idaho eventually settling in Malad, Idaho, where Milton worked for the University of Idaho as the Oneida County Agricultural Extension Agent. They lived in Malad for 33 years and moved to Provo in 1975 to be close to family.

Irene was active in a variety of activities related to church and community. She served in a variety of positions in the LDS Church and was a member of literary organizations in Malad. She served as an ordinance worker in the Provo, Utah Temple and served a L.D.S. mission in the Rapid City, North Dakota Mission with her husband. Milton passed away in 1989, and she had lived alone since that time; until, in 1998, she moved from her home to Cove Point Retirement Community. She enjoyed being with friends and acquaintances at the Community.

Hers was a life dedicated to service to friends and family.

She had five brothers and sisters, two of whom are still alive: Helen Kenworthy (Max), State College, Pennsylvania; and Charles Luke (Judy), Bellevue, Washington. She and Milton raised seven children: Milton Dee (Carole), Lone Tree, Colorado; David Luke (Maureen), Riverdale, Utah; Gary Max (Barbara), Provo; Kenneth Jay (Janet), Helena, Montana; Mark LeRoy (Ivelisse), Orem; Vicki Ann Burnham (Jon); Iona, Idaho, and Nancy Elaine Jenkins (Noel), Idaho Falls, Idaho. She has 41 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Her family is grateful for a full life of love and care she gave to her family and friends. Her life was lived to its fullest and her greatest concern was for others. She was grateful for the care and concern given by the staff of Cove Point.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, at 2 p.m., at Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, in Provo. There will be no public viewing. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be given in her name to the L.D.S. Perpetual Education Fund.
