Mr. Loar was a son of the late George H. and Mandana (Loar) Loar. He was a native of the Vale Summit community and a member of the Methodist Church there. Until his recent illness he was employed as a machinist at the B. and O. shops in Cumberland. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Margaret (Howell) Loar, a daughter, Katherine, and a son, William, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Wampler, Freeland, Md., Mrs. Roy Burkett, LaVale, Mrs. John Eversole, Cumberland, and Mrs. Vada Metz, Barton, and three brothers, Richard Loar, LaVale, Upton Loar, Eckhart, and Chester Loar, Vale Summit. The body is at the residence where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. John Wilson, pastor of Vale Summit Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the family burial lot in Loartown.
