William (Bill) Loebel, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his home.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at McLaren's Chapel with private burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ruby and William Loebel II. He was a graduate of Drake University and a lifelong Des Moines area resident. Bill was an art consultant for the Des Moines Public Schools, served as Director of Education at the Des Moines Art Center, and later worked for Townsend Industries until his retirement.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Julie (Jeff) Liening of Des Moines; two sons, Robert (April) of Oakdale, California and William of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and four grandchildren, Haley, Ashley, Gabe and Eli.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
