PAISLEY LADY DIED MONDAY
Mattie Theresa (Akin) (Mulkey) (Long) Newman suffered a stroke at her ranch home Monday evening and was rushed to the Lakeview hospital where she died about 15 minutes later. She was 52 years old.

Mattie Newman had lived in Lake County for the past 35 years. She was born in Enterprise, Oregon and spent her entire life in this state. She was a member of the Rebecah lodge at Paisley were funeral services and burial will be held pending word from relatives.

Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Pvt. John S. Newman of Kerns Field, Salt Lake City, Willis Lee Newman of Paisley, Miles Mulkey and Kenneth Orville Mulkey of San Francisco, one daughter Roxie Rosalee of Beaverton, Oregon and a sister, Mary Estelle (Ralls) of Carey, Idaho. Nellie Ann Akin, Clarence Edmond Akin, Lana Alice Akin, Harry Delos Akin, Charles R. Akin.

Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at the Paisley High School Saturday at 2 p.m with the Riverview Rebecah lodge in charge. Interment will be in the Paisley Cemetery.
