He was born Aug. 16, 1911 in New Richmond to Otto and Carrie Stovern Amundson. He attended school in New Richmond.
He married Gladys Schlough March 4, 1935, in Prairie Farm. They farmed a few years in the Wheeler area before he associated with the Dunn County Highway Department. He and his wife were very active in Grace United Methodist Church in Wheeler.
He is survived by a son, Ken (Sharon) Amundson, Richfield, Minn.; a daughter, Sandra (Philip) Hansen, Cook Rapids, Minn.; two sisters, Evelyn (Stanley) Peabody, Amery, and Goldie Husby, Eau Claire; a brother, Lloyd Amundson, New Richmond; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1992, and two brothers.
Services were Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Grace United Methodist Church with the Revs. Paul Smith and C. Arlene Denzer officiating. Burial was in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, town of Hay River.
