Virginia, "Ginny," was born on Aug. 22, 1917, in Indianapolis to Thomas and Bessie Spears.
She grew up in Danville, Ill., where she graduated from Danville High School and wed Wallace R. Boughey, her husband for 45 years.
They owned and operated AR Boughey & Son Lumber Co. and Owl Handiman Mart.
In 1963, the family relocated to Marietta, Ga., where Virginia was in charge of accounts for Ryder Truck Rental. She was an active member of the Meadowgrove Women's Club and Powers Ferry United Methodist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Edwin and Francis; sister, Katherine Vaughn; and grandson Jason Means.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Thomas Means, of Marietta; grandson and wife, Jeffery and Virginia Means; great-grandsons, Grant and Tyler Means of Atlanta; son and wife, Thomas and Kathy Boughey; and grandson, Timothy, of Kennesaw, Ga.; grandson and wife, William A. and Jennifer Boughey; and great-grandson, Zander, of Cumming, Ga.; son, Gene A. Boughey, of Sapphire, N.C.; and granddaughter, Hannah Boughey, of Norcross, Ga.
