Esella Jane Anderson Wills
Esella Jane Anderson was born 12 May 1838 in Batavia,
Clermont County, Ohio. She is daughter of William James
Anderson and Ruth Emily Norman, both reside in Clermont
County, Ohio.
Charles William Wills was 29 in 1857 his family moved
to Boone County, Indiana from Warren County, Ohio. Later that year Charles William Wills returned to Clermont County and married Esella Jane Anderson, taking her back with him to Indiana.
To this union eight children were born, five boys and three girls.
All are still living (*dated 1914)except the two oldest, James T. and Marion S.,who died in infancy. The living are: Anderson Hart Wills who resides five miles southeast of Ames; John M. Wills of Cambridge; Mrs. S.S. Severson and Mrs. A. R. Severson, who live four miles north-west of Cambridge; Mrs. A.L. Myers who resides south of Ames and Charles W. Wills of Cambridge.
Esella Jane Anderson Wills moved with her family from Indiana to Story County, Iowa in September 1861. March 30, 1876 Esella died of breast cancer, leaving her husband a widower with the sole care of his six little children. She was only 37 years, 10 months and 18 days old
