NELLA FAYE ABBOTT HAUSER

Nella Faye Hauser, daughter of Sam and Della Abbott, was born on March 17, 1924, in Bushyhead, Oklahoma.

She lived in Rogers County for over 85 years and died in Denton, Texas on July 27, 2012.

Nella was a graduate of Foyil High School. She married Jay Hauser of Tiawah in 1942. Three children, Larry, Tom and Suanne were born of this union. The marriage was dissolved in 1966.

After her children were in school, she attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1960. She taught elementary school for over 25 years at Tiawah, Sequoyah and Catoosa, where she was known as "Miss Faye."

She was an active member of the Harmony Star community for over thirty years. She later moved to Claremore and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Nella Faye played basketball in high school, enjoyed fishing in her younger years, and in later years, loved going to Branson with friends to see Shoji Tabuchi. Most of all, she loved her Lord and her family.

Nella Faye is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Susan Hauser of Plano, Texas, and Tom and Betty Hauser of Marceline, Missouri; granddaughters, Jennifer and husband Brian Simpson of Addison, Texas; Stacy and husband George Quinn of Macon, Missouri; Allie and husband Richard Shomaker of Columbia, Missouri; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Martha Mae Gyles of Evansville, Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hauser was preceded in death by her daughter Suanne; brothers Kenneth and Howard Abbott; and sister Opal Bradshaw.

Services will be handled by Rice Funeral Service in Claremore. A visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
