Jennings A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mr. Charles Charlie E. Gary, Sr., 70, on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited that evening at 6 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus. Sunday visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Gary died at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. He was former owner of and co-owner of Gary Construction and present owner of Gary Tire Center. Mr. Gary was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Cajun French Music Association, American Legion, a Eucharistic Minister, Woodmen of the World and the Louisiana Bowling Association. He was an Army veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gary was a loving husband and wonderful father, brother and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy Fay Darbonne Gary of Jennings; a daughter, Jennifer Gail ( Joey)Tassin of Lake Charles; two sons, Charles Chip Edward Gary, Jr. (Audrey) of Baton Rouge, Gregory John Gary and fiancé Brittany James of Fort Collins, CO; two sisters, JoAnna Parsley (Kelly) and Jeanette ( Mike) Briggs both of Jennings; three brothers, Robert Gary ( Dot) of Jennings, Fred Gary (Peggy) of Lake Charles and Michael Gary (Pegge) of Jennings and six grandchildren, Logan Gary, Joseph Tassin, Jr., Sophia Tassin, Christopher Tassin, Isabella Tassin and Olivia Tassin. Mr. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Loris Fruge Gary and a sister, Della Ruth Person.
