George served his country as an infantryman in the Philippines and Okinawa Island Campaigns during WWII. His service was recognized with the award of various campaign medals, a Combat Infantry Badge and a Bronze Star Medal. He ended WWII in Korea. He reenlisted and remained in the Army pulling occupational duty in Korea until he had completed his full military service commitment. He came home from WWII, married Harriette in Omaha NE on 28 Oct 1949 and got on with making a life for themselves. George and Harriette had a son (Dennis) and a daughter (Melodee). He stood by his wife throughout some very trying times (medical issues) until her death. George was indeed the epitome of a good man. Very kind and concerned with others, he thought of others first and always before himself. Truly a good man who is missed by all who knew him. R.I.P.
