John Nichols
CLAYTON, Ga - John Henry Nichols, 81, of the Persimmon Community, Rt. 2, Clayton, died Saturday, September 4, 1993, at Rabun County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Habersham County, he was a retired forestry employee and for many years, engaged in the farming and logging industry. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of King Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a son, Grady Nichols of Clayton; a daughter, Lavalda Nichols Smith of Clayton; a sister, Leila Nichols of Farmington, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was the widower of Grace Keener Nichols and the son of the late Charlie and Ading Carrott Nichols.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at King Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Clyde Hicks and George Kaulbach; burial in the Wolf Fork Baptist Church cemetery, Rabun Gap, Ga.
