Vivian "Vip" Lee Roberts, longtime farmer of Cimarron County, died Thursday, Feb. 2 at Cimarron Memorial Hospital.. He was 79 yrs. old. He was born April 4, 1909 in Marion, Ill.

He married Hazel Berry July 21, 1929 at Texhoma, Okla. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Keyes; one son, Bob Roberts of Keyes; two daughters, Joyce Renfrow and husband, Bob Renfrow of Alvin, Texas, Jacqueline Ferris and husband, Roger Ferris of McCloud, Okla.; two brothers, Monty Roberts of Kenton, Okla., Wendell Roberts of Sagus, Calif; two sisters, Beatrice Taggart of Livermore, Colo., Vinita Scott of Boise City; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Ferguson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Keyes United Methodist Church with Galan Smith and Harold James officiating. Burial will be in the Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes under the direction of Cimarron Mortuary.
