Stanley Anguin, 86, supervising groundskeeper at the Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic for many years until his retirement in 1969, died Oct. 28, 1992 at the Geer Memorial Extended Care Facility in Canaan, Conn. He was a local resident for 60 years and previously lived in Whitehall. Mr. Anguin was a life member of the Amenia Fire Company and a member of the Civil Service Employees Association and Wassaic Developmental Center Bowling League. He was a former member of the Amenia Civil Defense. He served in the National Guard during World War II. Mr. Anguin was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed athletics. He participated in boxing and football. He was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Whitehall. On Jan. 1, 1936, in Wassaic, he married Edith Brothers who survives at the Geer care facility. Other survivors include three daughters, Elaide Gahn of East Corinth, Vt and Donna Bavid and Lana Anguin- Cohen, both of Amenia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Immaculate Conception
Church, Amenia. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
