Born December 30, 1919 in Hickman County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lucy Bell (nee Adams) and Edward B. Grooms.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Orlan D. McClain and two sisters Thelma Schroeder and Hester Bates.
She is survived by a son Orlan "David" McClain, Jr. and wife Martha De of Gilman, Iowa, a brother Garland Grooms and wife Nadine of Festus, two granddaughters Shannon Elizabeth McClain of Kansas City, Missouri and Monica Christine Baumberger and husband Eric of North Carolina and three great-granddaughters Katie, Aubrey and Lauren Baumberger.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City, the owner/broker of McClain Realty Company, a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization and the Festus Housing Authority for eleven years.
