Ethlyn Benkwitt Alheit
Ethlyn Benkwitt Alheit, a former Yonkers resident, died Sunday at her Bethel, Conn. home.
Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Laura Roeck Benkwitt. Mrs. Alheit was a graduate of New York University, and taught for several years in the New York City public school system. She was a resident of Yonkers and Purchase for many years before moving to Bethel five years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Edmond C. Alheit, of Bethel; a son, Edmond K. Alheit, of Capitola, Calif.; a daughter, Ethlyn Finnerty, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; a brother, Alfred H. Benkwitt, of Yonkers; and three grandchildren.
