He was a veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre of Operations. He participated in the Normandy Invasion. He held lifetime membership in the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and the Second, Indian Head, Division.
He spent most of his working years at Griffin Tank and Welding and Coerver Industries. He was a charter member of Oak Cliff Lutheran Church of Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; daughter Karen Huff and husband Bill; two grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother in law; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Goetz Memorial Chapel, in Seguin, with the Rev. William Lange officiating. Burial was in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home.
