Dick Chatterton
1948 – 2007

Fruit Heights – Arthur Richard Chatterton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2007 surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on November 17, 1948 in Wendell, Idaho a son of Arthur Richard and Pauline Jenkins Chatterton.
He married the love of his life, Kathy Ann Thompson on February 19, 1968. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Dick was raised in Brigham City, Utah where he attended Box Elder High. He recently attended his 40th class reunion, and enjoyed seeing his old friends. He excelled in many sports, but especially loved football. He received a football scholarship to Utah State University and later continued his education at Weber State. Dick loved the 5 years he spent being a policeman in Brigham City and Roy, UT, but spent most of his professional career in the construction industry. He was a natural born salesman, and used this gift to help build Metro West Ready Mix, Metro Waste, and Metro Ready Mix. He developed life long friends instead of customers, and managed to sell ice to a few Eskimos. He will be remembered for his work ethic, integrity, sense of humor, wonderful stories, and genuine concern for others.
He was a member of the LDS Church and had held various callings throughout his life.
Some of Dick's favorite activities included riding his Harley, boating, piloting his Cessna, traveling, reading, and attending his sons and grandsons ball games. Above all his accomplishments and interests his greatest joy and love was his family.
Surviving are his wife Kathy Chatterton, Fruit Heights, UT; Christopher (Kim) Chatterton, Fruit Heights, UT; Bradley (Jennifer) Chatterton, Kaysville, UT; Kelly (Stacy) Chatterton, Layton, UT; Lindsey (Jonathan) Brown, Lehi, UT; five grandchildren; sister Pat Stroud, and mother-in-law Kathleen Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law Richard Thompson.
