Ada J. Davey age 87 passed away Sunday, July 23, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 10AM Wednesday, July 25, at McIntyre Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Waldo Woodcock, Rev. Terry Moseley and Rev. Johnny Jackson officiating.

Mrs. Davey was born and educated in Toronto, Canada on November 17, 1924. She was the daughter of the late William and Jean Phillips. She had made her home in McIntyre since 1951. Mrs. Davey was a homemaker, devoted to her family and church and a long time volunteer in the community. She was previously a member of United Church of Canada and later joined McIntyre Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by Max, her husband of 56 years in 2001, a daughter Susan and a son Danny.

Survivors include her beloved children Nancy Hamilton of Columbia, SC and Paul Davey of McInytre, her daughter-in-law Teresa Davey of Milledgeville, three special grandchildren, Danielle Davey, Dane Davey and John Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to one of Ada Davey’s favorite charities- American Heart Association 3312 Northside Dr. Suite A140 Macon, GA 31210, Georgia Baptist Children’s Home P.O. Box 440 Meansville, GA 30256, Special Olympics 1276 Assembly St. Columbia, SC 29201 or McIntyre Baptist Church P.O. Box 69 McIntyre, GA 31054.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6PM until 8PM at Moores Funeral Home.
