Julian P. Staton
Julian Provience Staton, 38, of Rt. 2, Amherst, died en route to Virginia Baptist Hospital, Saturday at 1:50 p.m. He was the son of the late James Fletcher Staton. He was born August 6, 1919 in Amherst County. He was a member of Coolwell Presbyterian Church and a veteran of World War II in which he was awarded the Purple Heart. He is survived by his mother, Mary Henson Staton, two daughters, Judith Staton and Gloria Staton, both of Richmond; two brothers, E. Russell Staton and Olin M. Staton both of Amherst; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Watts and Mrs. C. T. Otte both of Lynchburg and Mrs. John Bowling of Amherst. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Whitten Funeral Home. Burial will be Amherst Cemetery with full military rites. The family will be at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. T. Otte, 610 Harrison St.
